so, this is the new ep, such as it is. through months of arduous self-discovery and me trying to do nine million things for myself and others, i've finally come to a conclusion as to just what the hell i'm making next. i figured i'd just make an ep about home. about the adventures and new things you can learn while you're home. well, los angeles is my home, so every song this time around has been given the name of a street in this city i live in. and i've found myself lost at home a lot, but, hasn't everyone? let's face it, if you're somebody like me, you're used to getting spit on right where you live, from your own damn people, from the people who are supposed to be on your side. this ep isn't empress. it's not a bittersweet screed against things so much larger than you. it's about things that are exactly your size. it's not a cold hard slug of sardonic self-truth. it's the number 3 from the beat-to-shit fried chicken place that only you, your friends, and homeless people know about, or the mexican place that's so good, it's worth learning spanish for so they don't fuck up your order. this album's about accepting where you are right now, at this moment, isn't something to deny, but something to accept. this album is taking advantage of where you are right now and learning to live your best life in it.
